Trespass Offering

If a person hears an oath and does not make it known, he is guilty.

If a person becomes ceremonially unclean but doesn’t realize it, when he becomes aware of it, then he is guilty.

If a person makes a careless oath and doesn’t realize it; when he knows of it, then he is guilty.

When a person is guilty of one of these things, he shall confess that he has sinned as soon as he realizes it. And he shall bring his trespass offering.

• A female from the flock, a lamb or a kid of the goats

• The priest shall make an atonement for him.

• If he is not able to bring a lamb, then he shall bring two turtledoves, or two young pigeons.

• The priest shall make an atonement for him.

• It shall be forgiven him.

• If he be not able to bring two turtledoves, or two young pigeons, then he shall bring 1/10 of an ephah of fine flour.

• The priest shall take a handful of it and burn it on the altar.

• It shall be forgiven him.

• The remnant shall be the priest’s.

If a person commits a trespass and sins through ignorance in the holy things of the Lord; then he shall bring his trespass offering.

• A ram without blemish from the flocks

• The priest shall make an atonement for him.

• He shall make amends for the harm that he has done in the holy thing, and shall add a fifth part (20%) to it and give it to the priest.

• It shall be forgiven him.

If a person sins by doing any of the things which are forbidden to be done by the commandments of the Lord; though he didn’t know it, (when he realizes it – ESV) he is guilty. (unintentional sin)

• He shall bring a ram without blemish from the flock.

• The priest shall make an atonement for him.

• It shall be forgiven him.
